Responsibility

Jewelry we can stand behind.

From the start, we decided that every part of our business had to be done mindfully, ethically and sustainably. We believe that in the 21st century, this is the only way forward. Getting this right means constant effort, and it does make our jewelry a little more expensive. But we feel that doing things right is worth it, because not doing it just means someone else, half a world or half a century away, pays the cost.

01 - Ethical

To us, responsibility is more than just environmental sustainability, it also has to mean ethical manufacturing. Our jewelry is crafted by our Thai manufacturing partner with 20 years of experience in jewelry-making. Casting, polishing, setting, and plating - every step is expertly done with care and a great love for detail. Ethical working conditions and fair compensation are documented through regular independent audits that we have access to.

02 - Recycled Metals

The gold and silver we use for our pieces are 100% certified recycled, massively reducing their environmental impact. Compared to mined silver, recycled silver reduces air pollution by 80%, water pollution by 76%, and water use by 40%. Our metals are sourced from certified partners to make sure that environmental standards are met across the supply chain.

03 - Zero Plastic

Our beautiful packaging makes sure your jewelry arrives well-protected. But it also protects our planet. We have gone to great lengths to make sure that every single part, from the pouch that holds your jewelry to the tape that seals the box, is 100% plastic-free and recyclable. Our pouches are made from fair trade cotton, inside a cardboard jewelry box with a cardboard and wood pulp based liner. Your entire order comes in a beautiful gift wrapping, including our ribbons made from Tencel, a biodegradable wood-fiber-based material.

04 - Active Environmentalism

We want to go beyond our own products and supply chain in making an effort. That’s why, as a proud member of 1% for the Planet, we give 1% of our gross annual revenue to environmental nonprofits, who are able to have an impact where it matters most.

05 - Animal rights

Both our jewelry and packaging are free of animal products. You might think that's simple for a jewelry brand, but the devil is in the details. We never use pearls in our designs, because oysters and freshwater mussels are animals. Packaging can also be tricky - recycled eco-styled cardboard can contain leather, glue in sticky tape can be animal-derived. We pay attention to every part of our packaging to make sure it uses plant-based alternatives. The only animal involved in VEYIA Berlin is our poodle Elmo.
